Dr Chetan Shende is a Specialist in Pediatrics and Neonatology in Nagpur, practising at his clinic in Laxminagar, and also on call at CARE Hospital (Panchsheel Square) and Health City Children Hospital (Lokmat Square). Dr Shende graduated from Nagpur University in 2000 and then obtained the postgraduate MD (Pediatrics) degree from Aurangabad University in 2006, bagging a Gold Medal. He completed a Fellowship in Neonatology at MOSC Medical College (Kochi) and Bharati Hospital (Pune) with Honours at BVDU Pune in 2007. He also underwent a postgraduate program in Pediatric Nutrition by Boston University., Dr Chetan Shende is trained in different aspects of neonatal care such as standard time management in neonatal resuscitation according to NRP guidelines; assisted ventilation in neonates (with various types of ventilators including CPAP, Bear Cub 750, Dragger Babylog, SLE 5000, Avea, etc); care of pre-term babies with very low birth weight, SGA babies, KMC practices; diagnosis and post-surgical care of operated neonates; evidence based management of neonates, mainly using Cochrane database; postnatal care of normal neonate; and follow-up care of NICU graduates.
