Dr Chandrasekhar Dhar, aged 55years, is one of the leading Orthopaedic & Joint Replacement surgeons in the city of Kolkata. A senior visiting consultant in reputed hospitals like Calcutta Medical Research Institute, Woodlands Multispecialty Hospital, and Belle Vue Clinic, he has been one of the very successful Joint Replacement Surgeons in the state. An MBBS from Kolkata University and FRCS from Edinburgh, UK, Dr Dhar have been practicing Orthopaedics & Trauma surgery for last 30 years. He has been conducting joint replacement surgery for the past 20 years, bringing in the most modern expertise from UK (1988 – 1993), Trained in most modern Joint Replacement Surgery in AUSTRALIA ( 2005), GERMANY and ITALY ( 2007 ), Bangkok (2010). He is credited with various courses on Joint Replacement Surgery and is also a faculty member of workshops and live demonstrations of different Orthopaedic procedures organized by West Bengal Orthopaedic Association and other bodies. He has presented various lectures on Orthopaedics & Joint Replacement Surgery at both local & national courses and conferences. A member of Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOA), West Bengal Orthopaedic Association (WBOA), West Bengal Arthroplasty Society (WBAS), Indian Arthroscopy Society (IAS) and Indian Medical Association (IMA), Dr Dhar is committed to spread awareness of Orthopaedic surgery, specially Jointly Replacement Surgery in the State dispelling all the myths associated to it. Currently the Vice-President of West Bengal Arthroplasty Society, Dr Dhar has come a long way from tutoring junior doctors appearing for various post graduate examinations in India and abroad He is also Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh appointed Tutor for Basic surgical skill course in India.
